Joan Marie Sell McCarthy entered into the gates of heaven on Saturday September 9, 2017. beloved daughter of Theodore & Ruth Sell.
predeceased by her beloved husband Joseph McCarthy of 61 years, and her beloved grandsons TJ Manoy & Richard Fernandez.

Surviving daughters Deborah Fernandez, Katie McCarthy, Patricia McCarthy Manoy & Thomas Manoy , Maggie McCarthy & Dave Dolack
Loving Grandmother to Patti Ann Fernandez & Joseph & Jessica Manoy. Great grandchildren Lucas Fernandez, Dahlia Boone and Charleigh Madison Manoy.
Joan was born in NYC and met the love of her life while working as an usherette on Broadway. They bought their home in Dumont, NJ and moved in on their honeymoon night and lived there for 48 years prior to retiring to New Port Richey, Florida .
Joan loved decorating, our Dad would build it and our Mom would stain and refinish it, building beautiful pieces of furniture we all cherish❤️ Joan was an avid artist painting still life, arts and crafts and was a top notch cook. She loved traveling, camping across the US, skiing, golfing & swimming and donated to many charitable organizations she truly believed in.
The greatest role in her life she loved best was devoting her love and care to her daughters, Grandchildren & great grandchildren.
Mom you will be forever in our hearts.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated, 10:30am Thursday, September 14, 2017 at St. Anthony of Padua R.C. Church, 251 Franklin Street, Hightstown, NJ 08520. Private cremation will follow. arrangements are under the direction of the Barlow & Zimmer Funeral Home, Hightstown.
