Obituary for Dolores J Kessler

Dolores Joan Kessler, known formerly as Dolores Earley and to friends as “Dee”, of West Windsor passed away Wednesday, September 12, 2018, at the age of 87 while at the Elms of Cranbury. Born in Florence, NJ on December 9, 1930 she resided in Mercer County most of her married life.

Dolores was a 1949 graduate of Florence High School. She worked for many years at the NJ Highway Department where she met the love of her life, her husband John J. Kessler Jr. of nearly 55 years, who predeceased her in April of this year. Years later she returned to work in the Ewing Township Public School System where she enjoyed working 16 years primarily in the Office of Special Services and the High School Guidance Department.

Dolores loved spending time at Long Beach Island and even more so when her family, especially her grandchildren, were there with her. For many years she enjoyed taking day trips with John and friends to Atlantic City. More recently she resided at Bear Creek Assisted Living where she was a fixture, and regular winner, at nightly Bingo. Dolores was a member of the Presbyterian Churches of Ewing and Hightstown.

Predeceased by her parents Mildred and David Earley, her husband John, sister Helen Capritti and brother William Earley, Dolores is survived by her two daughters and sons-in-law, Karen and Craig Cox and Colleen and Nestor Kopidis, four grandchildren, Johnny & Anna Cox, Sophia & Zoe Kopidis, sister-in-law Janet Martino and several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held Saturday, September 15 from 10:00am to 11:00am at the First Presbyterian Church of Hightstown, 320 N. Main St, Hightstown, NJ 08520. Funeral Service will follow at 11:00am.
Entombment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in Dolores’ name may be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Hightstown, 320 N. Main Street, Hightstown, NJ 08520.
