The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Condolence: I worked for Adam every summer when I was in college, and for a few years after that. I admired him very much. He cared deeply about the work we were doing, and he believed that details mattered. He taught me about doing a job well. I will never forget the boyish smile that would break across his face. I'll also never forget his insistence that beer must be drunk out of a glass, not a bottle! I cared very much for Adam, and I regret I didn't see him in recent years. He will not be forgotten! My condolences to his family, and my prayers for his peaceful rest.

Condolence: Adam, my beloved stepfather, made Mom so happy and he made all of our lives wonderful and enriching. He was 88 years old and he lived a very fulfilling life. Adam attended Rutgers University on a football scholarship and received his BA, MA and Ph.D. from Rutgers. He worked as a professor at Rutgers for 33 years. Some of my favorite times spent with Adam were when we went to flea markets on the weekends at day break, flashlights in hand, searching for antique treasures, and when we helped each other with the New York Times crossword puzzles over the years. He was an awesome father and grandfather, and we all loved him so much. I am so lucky to have had Adam in my life.

Condolence: I first met Adam when I was dating Adam's stepdaughter, Ann back in 1994. Although we only periodically met because we moved overseas, it was clear to me that Adam and Sandra (Mom) were a very balanced couple. When he grew older, Sandra took care of him in the most loving way.

He will be missed and my thoughts are with Sandra and the family.

Condolence: My friendship with Adam began in the 1980s, when he joined me as one of the founding members of the National Association of Scholars. Then, and ever after, he fought passionately for a reform of education that would again make it true to the principles of American liberty. His contributions to the cause were unique because he could draw upon a profound knowledge and personal experience with education at both its university and public school levels. And however rough the going he never faltered or despaired, or lacked a funny story from his years as a school administrator or Rutgers sociologist to help lighten the way.

My deep condolences to Sandra, Barbara and Susan, all the other members of Adam's family, and his many friends. No one can replace him.
